Avalon Landing Premiere “The Cure” Music Video on ArtistDirect

Las Vegas indie-rock band on the rise, Avalon Landing, are excited to team up with ArtistDirect to release the video for their new single, “The Cure.” The track, off of their 2013 release Reside, is a catchy and hard-hitting track reminiscent of Death Cab for Cutie and Jimmy Eat World. For the video, Avalon Landing engaged the broad range of people attending First Friday in Las Vegas. First Friday is a staple in the Las Vegas community and Avalon Landing wished to portray the energy of the community that they are from by having people in the crowd perform “The Cure.”

When asked about the inspiration for the video, the band said: “The concept for “The Cure” video was to turn the camera around and make it about everybody except us. We were interested in tapping into a feeling, some sort of universal emotion, rather than presenting a narrative. People have a lot of fun with this song and so we wanted to make it a fun video. The idea was quite loose with no way of knowing what, if anything, we would capture on film. The backdrop is an arts festival so that at least guaranteed us some interesting characters. What I love about it is that we ultimately did uncover a narrative in the varied degrees people were willing to let themselves go.”
