Brooklyn’s Bear Hands is excited to announce a string of July tour dates behind their recent full-length Distraction, which features the hit single “Giants” and is out now in the US and Canada via Cantora Records. Following festival appearances and dates with Cage the Elephant in June, the band will begin a headlining run in Pittsburgh, PA at Cattivo on July 2. The tour will take them all the way through Outside Lands Music & Art Festival in San Francisco, CA on August 8 with stops at LollapaloozaEdgefestSummerfest and more in between. Tickets are now available here.
Bear Hands has already had a notably busy year, but even after a tireless tour regimen including dates with Cage the Elephant and Bombay Bicycle Club with stops at South By SouthwestCoachellaBig Guava Music Fest and more, the band is all but slowing down. This time around, Bear Hands is joined by Brooklyn-based duo Junior Prom, who are touring behind the self-titled, written and produced EP Junior Prom. They’ll also be supported by Total Slacker, who accompanied them on their run with Miniature Tigers earlier this year and have earned a reputation for vicious live shows including flaming guitars, smoke machines and smashed instruments. Current tour dates are below, with more to be announced soon.

Distraction has been met with praise, with Pretty Much Amazing singling out Distraction cut “Bone Digger” as “just too funky to have come from human hands.” Shortly after the release ofDistractionNPR called them one of the best discoveries of SXSW 2014, lauding their “serious, intricate pop.” Pigeons and Planes praised Distraction‘s “bevy of jangling guitars and energetic songwriting,” while Consequence of Sound noted that “no matter the individual song’s components, though, an underlying punk ethos still shines thanks to their insatiable sense of curiosity and their utter creative fearlessness.” Death and Taxes said that Distraction “blends lush guitar textures with irresistible melodies to pleasing effect,” while Alternative Press said “Bear Hands are great… and they’re evolving faster than most of the stuff on your hard drive.”
