BRENT WALSH OF I THE MIGHTY PREMIERES NEW SONG “DEFAULT WORLD” ON ALTPRESS.COM

OCT 24 – Brent Walsh of I the Mighty is now premiering a second track from his debut solo full-length album, 7. “Default World” – a song inspired by Walsh‘s experiences at Burning Man – can be heard now on AltPress.com!

“I wrote “Default World” last year when I got back from Burning Man for the first time,” shares Walsh. “The experience was life changing and I strongly encourage anyone from all walks of life to consider experiencing it at least once in their lives. When you’re there, you refer to everything outside of that little makeshift town in Black Rock City, NV as the default world. Your normal life is practically long forgotten within a 24 hour period of being there. What I wanted to do with this song was try to capture the vibe and camaraderie within our camp that I experienced. It’s probably my favorite track on the record for that reason…every time I play it I’m taken back to one of the best weeks of my life and all those feelings that came along with it.”

Walsh also recently released a music video for “Free” – a stunning, piano driven ballad with lush harmonies – which can be seen now at Youtube.com/equalvision. The video for “Free” was filmed in San Mateo, CA with director Ernie Gilbert (Bayside, letlive., Set It Off).

An album release show has also just been announced for Walsh, taking place on November 4 at Leo’s Music Club in Oakland, CA. SupportingWalsh will be Fortress Social Club (ft. Shawn Harris) and Mr. Kind (ft. Jon Devoto).

7, which will be released on November 10 via Equal Vision Records, was recorded with producer Jon Devoto of The Matches. A video introduction to the album, featuring exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of Walsh recording the album, can also be found HERE. Pre-orders for 7 are available now through MerchNOW.
