Watch ‘Timepieces and Lock Shaped Hearts’ Video
Convention-defying melodic punks Darko are pleased to announce a huge string of European tour dates throughout April and May (full dates below) as well as revealing the video for ‘Timepieces and Lock Shaped Hearts’ – the latest track taken from the ‘Sea of Trees’ EP which is out now.
The video was shot on their recent EP release tour with various GoPro cameras documenting some of the antics and copious amounts of shred that occurred: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzgOTSJrZuw
“This track was initially inspired by something I read about a guy who had dementia – when hearing the songs of his youth it kind of brought him out of it a little and made him happy” explains vocalist Dan Smith “I started to wonder if my band and the songs I’ve written with those guys could perhaps (wishfully thinking/hoping) ever have an impact like that, the idea being that the “Timepieces” are the songs the “Lock Shaped Hearts” are the memories that are brought about by hearing the songs.”
“We get to hang out with a lot of great people when we’re on the road, who always have really nice things to say about us and what we do and I just hope that our songs and our performances make people smile and they take away good fun memories from our interactions. As the song says: this is all for you; we hope you like it and when we’re all old and grey that you get to hear our tunes again and they grant you the gift of great memories and good times!”
Channelling the technical skill of Protest The Hero, the colossal choruses of Four Year Strong and the brutality of Slayer into a sound that’s got more in common with Pennywise, A Wilhelm Scream and Propagandhi, this lot specialize in melodic, fingertapped guitar intricacy woven into a balls out strain of skate punk.
The band are currently busy in the studio writing for their next record set for release later this year. They are also pleased to be one of the first acts announced for Punk Rock Holiday in Slovenia this year and will be returning to independent punk and hardcore festival Konrad Fest for the 3rd year running.
