Emily Wolfe Premieres New Video!

Austin, TX – April 3, 2014 – Austin’s rising dream rock singer/songwriter/guitarist Emily Wolfe teams up with American Songwriter today to premiere her live video for the unreleased new song “Violent Veins.”
Wolfe describes the meaning of her lyrics for this new song explaining,

“Life imitates art to me and ‘Violent Veins’ is a specific example of that. I have always had a thing with accidentally breaking jewelry given to me by a significant other and, in retrospect, I’ve come to realize how predictive that can be. It’s also about how genetics run through your veins. Sometimes connecting with those genetics is the only way you know how to get a passionate feeling out of your body – that’s what this song is all about.”

Most recently, Wolfe kicked-off her SXSW week landing two massive song placements on both TV and film – the first on the hit show, The CW’s VAMPIRE DIARIES which featured her song “White Collar Whiskey”andhas already garnered 94,000+ song streams on the official Vampire Diaries Youtube. The second song placement came during SXSW when the band officially landed a track in the new Juliette Lewis/ Cybil Shepperd film, KELLY AND CAL, a film that premiered at SXSW this year.

Along with these major song placements, Emily Wolfe also kicked-off SXSW being honored by NPR Music, ranking in on their “Top 5 Bands to Watch at SXSW 2014.” Wolfe and the band performed multiple official showcases plus landed a coveted performance slot for the legendary KGSR SXSW Morning Show, the annually broadcast live show from the W Hotel – ranking the band among the biggest rising acts at this year’s festival including London GrammarPhantogram, the 1975 and more.

Emily Wolfe transcends the ranks of ordinary musicians. With a versatility all her own, Wolfe’s ability to transform from rock and roll fireball into intimate acoustic songwriter is showcased in her latest new single “Swoon,” just released on February 11th on iTunes, produced by Mike McCarthy (Spoon, Dead Confederate).

MTV Buzzworthy exclusively premiered “Swoon” one week prior to its release calling it

“a growling, erotic inhale of a track that feels like Ingrid Michaelson after a few whiskeys and wouldn’t feel out of place couched between Metric and Muse.”

The single “Swoon” is a follow-up to Wolfe’s 2013 double-installment sophomore release – 11 tracks split between two EPs, each showcasing a completely different component of Wolfe’s complex music. The first EP was released in May of 2013, Mechanical Hands, and features heavy hitting tracks that seamlessly progressed the band’s style from their acoustic LP to a heavy-hitting rock group. The follow-up EP, Night & Day, was released in December of 2013 and portrays the more delicate, minimalistic side to Wolfe’s tunes. PASTE premiered the music video for the single “Lion Heart” and called it “a beautiful representation of the themes of the song.”

Emily Wolfe performs with a full band of Austin’s top musicians. The band’s creative nucleus and songwriting power-duo is Wolfe and keyboardist and backup vocalist Hannah Hagar. Instrumentally indispensible are Sam Pankey (bass) and Jeff Olson (drums), the band’s rhythm section who provide the solid groundwork to allow Emily’s lyrics and guitar-work to glide atop.

In less than a year, Wolfe has been named one of the Sundance Channel Artists to Watch for 2013, played sold-out shows in New York City and Austin, TX, and shared stages with the likes of Allen Stone, Robert Ellis, Bob Schneider, Wild Child, and The Boxer Rebellion. Wolfe has been adored by press ranging from national music tastemakers like NPR MusicMTV Buzzworthy, PASTE, Brooklyn Vegan, and The Deli Magazine; top local press including The Austin Chronicle, Austin Monthly and Austin CultureMap; and also top indie radio stations including both KUTX and 101X in Austin, and WXPN in Philadelphia.
