Quick Pre-Release Review:

“Think The Pixies “Where is My Mind” on a dissonant acid trip” – SwitchBitch Noise

Now we here at SwitchBitch Noise got a pre-release review of the full record and are pleased to state that we are very happy to receive music and news on some strong rooted artists such as Bugs In The Dark. Love the raw vibe, can’t get enough of the wall of sound created by the aggressive feedback and the late 80’s/early 90’s production really sets the mood! What did you think of “Red Lines” (above)? Once we get to track 3 “Modern Life” our ears were slammed with some haunting melodies that were doubled with octaves (low male / high female) which as it reoccured throughout the record, became a prominent sound for these guys. The track climaxes at a nearly screaming chant towards the end and moves right along to Track 4 “Wasted”…hmm, can you think The Pixies “Where is My Mind” on a dissonant acid trip? That’s what you’ll get. Bravo! Can’t wait to for this to get out to the public and see where this goes. Cheers!

Bit of News:

In addition to playing iconic NYC venues such as Mercury Lounge, Glasslands, and Brooklyn Bowl, the band is taking their live show to the next level, performing at both national and international festivals including CMJ, SXSW, Northside Festival, Indie Week, and Halifax Pop Explosion. Drawing from influences such as Dead Weather, Blonde Redhead, and A Place To Bury Strangers, Cross My Heart Little Death is the band’s fourth release, following 2007’s Shake Shake, 2008’s Grand Avenue, and 2011’s Hang it on the Wall.
