KATATONIA to Release ‘Kocytean; for Record Store Day

Record Store Day began in the US in 2007 when over 700 independent stores in the USA came together to celebrate their unique culture, the UK soon followed suit and on April 19th 2014 will see the seventh celebration of the UK’s unique independent sector.

Peaceville Records presents this exclusive Katatonia 12” vinyl release for this year’s renowned Record Store Day.

The ‘Kocytean‘ vinyl (Cat. No: VILES504)  features 6 tracks, containing rarities from the Swedish band’s more recent period of recorded output; from 2006’s ‘Code Against the Code’ & ‘Unfurl’ (from the era of breakthrough release ‘The Great Cold Distance’) up to ‘The Act of Darkening’ & ‘Second’, recorded during the period of the band’s recent acclaimed masterpiece, 2012’s ‘Dead End Kings’. ‘Kocytean’ also includes sumptuous artwork courtesy of the band’s long-time visual collaborator, Travis Smith.
