Kids to play ‘For The Love Music Festival‘ with Copeland February 7, 2015

Fort Lauderdale, FL | December 1, 2014 – South Florida’s indie/folk alternative rock band Kids not only announced that they will be playing alongside Copeland at the ‘For The Love Music Festival’ this February, they released “Rich Coast: Official Album Trailer II,” (produced by C&I Studios) the second in a series of creative self-produced album trailers teasing their highly anticipated debut album Rich Coast which is set for release on January 27, 2015. The creative 4-piece Kids strives to bring something new to the table by providing their listeners with a series of album trailers used as a concept to interpret the tone and feel of their debut album Rich Coast. “Rich Coast: Official Album Trailer II,” continues the story from last week’s “Rich Coast: Album Trailer I” where a traveler begins his adventurous journey to get back to his true love, featuring two emotionally captivating songs, “Lone” and “Second Star on the Right” from their full-length album, Rich Coast.

“On Trailer II, (opening with track 7 “Lone”) the traveler finds shelter and builds a fire to settle in for the night, keeping his sanity through his loneliness with his two best friends… His harmonica and his pipe. Waking up the next morning in a fog, he realized he’s running late! Now he has to hurry (song, track 4, “Second Star on the Right”). Sprinting, jumping, climbing, and sweating to make his deadline; his determination prevails. He will succeed. For every challenge is a new adventure.” – Kids

Kids (similar to Young the Giant, American Authors, Mumford & Sons) is an eclectic four piece American Indie-rock band formed in 2012 by Josiah Sampson (guitar), Joshua Diaz (lead vocals, bass), Matthew Barrios (drums) and Christian Gonzalez (guitar). Aside from their musical career, the band works in lead production roles at C&I Studios in Fort Lauderdale alongside Director Joshua Miller, who after hearing Rich Coast for the first time got a creative itch; writing a series of trailers, music videos, and branding concepts that would ultimately set the release of Rich Coast on the map in the music and film industry and beyond. Continuing from “Rich Coast: Official Album Trailer I” to “Rich Coast: Official Album Trailer II,” this sensational band is proving that they’re not just an indie-rock band, they’re an all-inclusive musical experience.

Kids are reinventing the feeling of freedom that reminds us of exploration and seeking direction in life, uniting vintage folk sounds with powerful symphonic melodies and an array of unique instrumentals creating an original indie-rock album. Rich Coast features a wide variety of distinctive eastern instruments such as Gϋseng, Shruti Box, Zither, Melodica and Casinets, and western instruments Hammer Dulcimer, Ukeline, Banjo and Nashville Guitar to complete Kids’ passionate tale. About Kids:

“When we discussed writing our full-length record, we sought out ways to translate feeling into the music. We wanted to convey emotion rather than just a sound or a story, we wanted to put the listener in the scenery where we wrote it. We went on a three-week adventure, across the pines of Chattanooga, Tennessee to the mountains of Northern Georgia. In search for adolescence, in search for a feeling we could construe…” —  Josiah Sampson, Kids

In early 2013, Kids released their debut EP Sink or Swim which had fans wildly raving about their musical craftsmanship and inspiring lyrics. The band also released a music video for the title track “Sink or Swim” produced by Kids and C&I Studios (“The Distance,” “Grace from Above”).   Kids has shared the stage with bands such as Copeland, Parachutes, Go Radio, and The Rocket Summer. The band also prides themselves on giving back, they have headlined a rally for the charity Invisible Children. Kids’ thrilling performances made a lasting impression at Florida Music Festival and when they shared the stage with Surfer Blood and The Neighbourhood at Coastline Festival, which also featured indie-icons Passion Pit, Matt & Kim, and Capital Cities. Kids is licensed by C&I Studios andHard Rock Energy, who featured “The Standoff” from Rich Coast and guitarist, Josiah Sampson, in their debut commercial.

Rich Coast is Kids’ first full length album, artfully created while the band was camping and hiking the Appalachian Trail. The records’ melodies were written while watching classic Spaghetti Western films and Kung-Fu movies on silent, giving the album its otherworldly picturesque feel. Rich Coast was produced in Orlando, FL at Emissary Studios, mixed at James Joseph Audio in Memphis, and mastered at Euphonic Masters in Nashville, TN. The band finds their signature voice in this record; by adding a vintage cinematic edge to their popular indie style songwriting.
