Say Yes confronts the challenges of young adulthood, relationships and love head-on with an extremely honest and fresh take. “I write from personal experience. I’ve been writing and creating since I was a little kid, and it comes very naturally to me,” said Strange. “I feel stifled if I can’t express myself creatively through music.” The EP was mixed and mastered by John Netti of Adrenaline Audio (Rival Sons, Sturgill Simpson).

“I had the privilege of working with some of the best studio musicians in Nashville on this record,” Strange noted, “including my good friend Rob McNelley, who received the Guitar Player of the Year Award at the ACM awards this year.” Strange’s own credits also include performing and working alongside artists such as Taylor SwiftLittle Anthony and Phil Vassar. Last year she performed as a supporting guest vocalist for Passion Pit as they filmed a series of VEVO videos in Nashville (read more on AltPress).

Say Yes follows 2010’s award winning debut EP Strange. Titled as Grand Prize Winner in the 2010 John Lennon International Songwriting Contest and winner of the Lennon Award for the JLSC Country category, the album also won first place in the American Songwriter Lyric Contest in March/April 2010 and placed in other national contests.

With a classical background in piano and voice, Say Yes marks the first step of many for Lauren Strange; plans for a full-length album are already in development. The EP release show for Say Yes will be held on December 2nd, 2014 at The Groove in Nashville, with no cover charge (event link). Her EP can be purchased on Bandcamp here.
