Like Mike: New Single

Since forming in Marrieta, Georgia in August 2011, Like Mike have showcased their energetic and high-octane brand of pop-punk across the Southern States, playing dates on the Vans Warped Tour as well as a series of regional headline runs.

The band cites influence from the older generation of alternative front-runners such as Senses Fail and Taking Back Sunday to the current crop of usual suspects Set Your Goals and The Story So Far. This melting pot of inspiration is evident with their combination of hook heavy breakdowns and raw, unwavering delivery.

In September 2012, Like Mike made the short trip to EST Audio to enlist the production of Daniel Ernest and Mike Lester. Dubbed as an EP, but with 8 tracks worth of material, debut release “With Friends Like These…” set the tone for a relationship to blossom, and despite the release being far from the finished article, the potential was evident for all to see.

A year later, the five-piece returned to the scene of the crime for follow up release, “This Is Dan…”. Avoiding the sophomore slump in emphatic fashion, the quartet had returned a more focused and cohesive unit, demonstrated by an accomplished sound and a confident vocal/instrumental interplay particularly evident in tracks such as ‘Popeyes’ and latest single ‘Knuckles Deep’.

Still thriving under the tutelage of Ernest and Lester, Like Mike continue to perform an accessible and melodic brand of rock, both during their explosive live shows and on record. With EP #3 currently in the works – set for a Summer release – and a busy schedule of live events, 2015 is set to be a fine year for Georgia pop-punk.
