BROOKLYN, NY // August 27, 2014: Wild in style, energy and sound, NYC’s Manic Pixi have paired up with Curve Magazine to release their music video for “Kiss Me” today. Full of passionate and chaotic fun, the video highlights the band’s playful personality cut with shots of couples kissing. “Kiss Me” is featured on their upcoming debut album Sugar Bomb! due out September 16th.

Manic Pixi teamed up with Yacht Club Productions to bring their ideas to life. Singer Kat Hamilton commented, “Since this was our first video, we needed it to be one-hundred percent our brand: silly, sexy, confident and fun. We spoke to a ton of directors, but Yacht Club had a love of pop-punk culture that drew us to them immediately.”

Friends of the band came out as extras, contributing to the authentic vibe and flexible atmosphere. “Since the song is about my experience as a queer woman, we could have had only girls at the shoot, but I think the whole point of the song is that it doesn’t take itself too seriously. We wanted this video to be a bunch of people getting together and having goofy time, to feel as inclusive as possible,” Hamilton said. Filmed at the Silent Barn in Bushwick, Brooklyn allowed for creative filming and mural backdrops.

Sugar Bomb! Is set to drop September 16th, with the band’s album release show being held at the Silent Barn on September 20th.

Manic Pixi is the pop-grunge brainchild of Lead singer, Kat Hamilton and Drummer, Emmett Ceglia. The two met at Berklee College of Music, performing as Slam poets. Manic Pixi has a ballsy, genre bending sound all their own. They have been described as Hole mixed with Green Day, No Doubt, Letters to Cleo and Paramore. In December 2013 they released their first single, “Hangover” which garnered public acclaim, and followed by their second single “Kiss Me” in March 2014. In June, Manic Pixi teamed up with Yacht Club Productions and filmed the “Kiss Me” music video.
