NIGHTMARES ON WAX REVEALS “BIOFEEDBACK (MORGAN GEIST REMIX)” PREMIERED VIA XLR8R, PERFORMING DJ SETS ALONGSIDE NATIONAL FULL-BAND TOUR

Warp Records is proud to share the newest remix from Nightmares on Wax (George Evelyn), called “Biofeedback (Morgan Geist Remix)” from the Deep Down: Remixes and Rarities collection, due June 17, 2014. The track premiered via XLR8R, who noted its “crisp bell pattern that bounces along with the remix’s dry snares and relentlessly buoyant synth sequences.” One of Warp Records’ initial signings, Nightmares on Wax is releasing the N.O.W. Is The Time compilation in celebration of his 25-year career, which falls in tandem with Warp’s own 25th anniversary this year. Additionally, Nightmares on Wax is releasing a set of remixes called Deep Down: Remixes and Rarities. Both full tracklists can be found below.
To ring in the release and the quarter-centennial celebration, Nightmares on Wax will head out on his largest US tour ever beginning in Seattle, WA at Neumos on June 18 and ending in Miami, FL atGrand Central on July 21. For a preview of the live show check out last year’s KCRW session.
Alongside the Nightmares on Wax live tour, DJ E.A.S.E (aka George Evelyn/Nightmares on Wax) will be performing DJ sets at record stores across the US in June and July, meeting with fans and giving away posters to attendees who buy the new album. There is also an album release event at the new Ace Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. The current list of tour dates and in-store DJ sets can be found below.
Pandora is currently premiering N.O.W. Is The Time as part of Pandora Premieres. Fans can hear a selection of tracks from both versions of N.O.W. Is The Time, as well as Deep Down: Remixes & Rarities. The premiere can be found HERE.
The Nightmares on Wax story is one that spans decades and genres. Evelyn (also known as DJ E.A.S.E) came up in the 80s UK B-Boy and graffiti scene enamored with New York hip-hop and was an innovator in merging those sounds and feelings with the popular sounds of the UK at that time to pioneer what became dubbed “trip-hop.” Releasing classic albums such as Smokers Delight andCarboot Soul and working with the likes of De La Soul and Roots Manuva established NOW as one of the definitive purveyors of hip-hop, funk, dub and soul. 25 years on, his fanbase is still growing.
