“Comfortable”:

“Known for her soulful sound, she emulates the styles of our current favorite artists but, unlike them, avoids too much production on her songs to make her voice shine on each and every track.” – Viva Glam Magazine

New York, NY | July 1, 2014 – Emily Katter is an upbeat, curly haired, pop singer-songwriter hailing from the iconic streets of Manhattan. Her soulful sound has earned her comparisons to Alicia Keys, Natasha Bedingfield, and Robyn, and caught the attention of Fieldhouse Music Publishing (BMG Chrysalis), where she’s currently signed. Today Emily has partnered up with WorldLifestyle.com to unveil her new single, “Comfortable”, a powerful ballad that explores the emotions of being in a long-term relationship and keeping the flame from burning out. The song was co-written by fellow NYC-based singer-songwriter, Hadar Orshalimy, and co- produced by Dan  “Robopop” Omelio,  (Maroon 5, Gym Class Heroes, Lana Del Rey) and Eli Menezes(Lauren Hill, Trey Songz, Estelle). Alongside the exclusive single premiere she also provided World Lifestyle with a poignant editorial piece on how to keep the spark alive in love. Check it all out here:http://bit.ly/1o46qZc

“‘Comfortable’ is about being in a long-term relationship and getting to a point where you don’t really know if you are still “in love,” or if it is just being comfortable that keeps you together. It’s about trying to keep that spark alive when it’s covered up by familiarity. This song is important to me because I’ve been in this situation, as I know many people in long-term relationships have been at one point or another.  I hope people will relate to the song and realize that we all go through similar experiences.” – Emily Katter

ABOUT EMILY KATTER:

Emily Katter is a singer-songwriter with a soulful alternative-pop sound. Her particular brand of pop merges her love of folk/rock music from the 60’s and 70’s to the female powerhouse vocalists of the 90’s. Her debut EP ‘Shining Now’ was produced by ROBOPOP’s Dan “Omelio, who co-wrote and produced Maroon 5’s chart-topping “Payphone,” Gym Class Heroes’ hits “Stereo Hearts” and “Ass Back Home,” and produced Lana Del Ray’s “Videogames.” As with many of Omelio’s hits, Emily’s music resonates with touches of soul, dance, and R&B.

Based in New York City, Emily has a vocal and music industry background, and with the help of coaches like Gordon Grody (who’s worked with Lady Gaga and Alicia Keys), she’s crafted the sweet and infectious style she records today.  Emily also has a publishing deal in place with Fieldhouse Music, part of BMG Chrysalis. Her curly hair, inquisitive personality and strong voice create a full package as a pop artist.

Industry insiders are already catching on. Billboard magazine named Emily to its “Next Big Sound” chart in June 2012 and respected Grammy.com music blogger Arjan (Arjanwrites.com) called her debut single“Heart Explosion” “lush, soulful” and “accomplished.” The dance-floor-ready single features a street-smart cameo by rapper Hybrid Infamous. The single was recently featured on Katie Couric’s new show, Katieduring a segment featuring cast members of The Bachelor. “Heart Explosion” and “Summer Soul”, both from the EP, were released on the compilation 100% Black Vol. 15 by Blanco y Negro (Spain’s leading dance label). “Heart Explosion” was also featured on a playlist for a compilation album to benefit the Vh1 Save the Music Foundation.

Emily also donates her time to famous music charity organization, Musicians on Call in which she travels to different hospitals to perform at the bedsides of patients. She is currently in the studio writing and has been performing shows in NYC at venues such as Rockwood Music Hall, The Cutting Room, Bowery Electric. Emily was also selected to perform at the 3rd annual Rock the Schools Concert on December 5th at the Gramercy Theatre in NYC to support the Vh1 Save the Music Foundation, supporting acts such as Josh Kelley and more.
