OBLITERATIONS: “Scapegoat” Video Released Via Cvlt Nation

As raging So-Cal punk/Hardcore faction, OBLITERATIONS, takes off on their latest live attack this week, with even more new shows added to the itinerary, a new video for the band’s “Scapegoat” has been released.

Directed and edited by Ian McCullough at Annotation Films, the “Scapegoat” video is as rampant as OBLITERATIONS‘ unruly output, ramming as much seizure-inducing visual violence as possible into each frame in a whirlwind of violent angst. Cvlt Nation delivers the video to the public for the first time, enthusiastically issuing, “Anyone who’s seen OBLITERATIONS live can testify to the hellish rage and sonic warfare they unleash on their audiences! Today we’re stoked to bring you the premiere of their new video for “Scapegoat” off of Poison Everything, and this video is a visual testimony for their pissed-off sound!”

OBLITERATIONS continues to tour in support of their Southern Lord-released debut LP, Poison Everything, brandishing their scathing brew of confrontational output inspired by the likes of Die Kreuzen, Black Flag, MC5, Negative Approach, and labelmates Poison Idea. The upcoming routing sees the Los Angeles-based outfit alongside Vancouver, British Columbia-based punks White Lung for the bulk of the two-week rampage which will see the crew storming states in the Midwestern and Northeastern US and Southeastern Canada. Coliseum also joins the tour lineup for the shows in Montreal and Ottawa, the latter of which at Ottawa Explosion Weekend along with Boilermaker and more. The tour comes to a close the third weekend in June at the huge NXNE Festival in Toronto, where OBLITERATIONS performs with Girl Band, Mission Of Burma, California X and Grooms. Additionally, the band has added several new NYC gigs to the beginning of the tour, beginning the action with a sold-out crowd tomorrow night opening for Refused, followed by an additional Brooklyn show the following night.

With past/present alumni of Black Mountain, Saviours and Night Horse and more, OBLITERATIONS released Poison Everything through Southern Lord in October 2014 amidst major waves of stateside touring preceding and following the album’s construction and release. Recorded with producer Chris Owens (Lords, Coliseum, Young Widows) at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606, mixed by Kurt Ballou (Converge, High On Fire, Black Breath) at God City Studio, and mastered by Brad Boatright (Tragedy, Integrity, Sleep) at Audiosiege, Poison Everything delivers nearly a half-hour of antagonistic hardcore punk mayhem that simply cannot be contained, in the studio or club.
