Pop artist and songwriter Amanda Brecker and music video director Nina Najjar portray the ephemera of dreams flawlessly with Brecker’s music video.
Musical artist, vocalist, and songwriter Amanda Brecker has returned to the performance scene after a hiatus! Her newest single, “Man Of My Dreams”, is a playful, endearing song about the wonders of love. The music video accompanying it is not only breathtaking, but it also perfectly encapsulates the ephemeral notion of romantic dreams.
Amanda Brecker’s “Man Of My Dreams” takes place in the dreamscape of Brecker’s mind. Within that scape is a highly stylized version of New York City. It’s a gorgeously rendered setting, inspired by Brecker’s vision coupled with director Nina Najjar‘s cinematic direction. Some of the shots are a smidge busy. However, all of this fits extremely well with the hustle and bustle of Manhattan and Brooklyn. You can even recognize some iconic landmarks, such as the Empire State Building, the Flatiron Building, and the Brooklyn Bridge!
As far as I can tell, Brecker’s time producing music marketed towards Japan has influenced this video’s visual style. This is a great and inspired decision as many Japanese pop videos are visually stunning. The color pallet of “Man Of My Dreams” is remarkably bright and cheery, and almost reminiscent of Harajuku art style in a sense. It’s really neat. Furthermore, Brecker’s ability to create these scenes so sincerely in front of a green screen during production is spectacular.
In the end, this is a fantastic video for a wonderful song. Amanda Brecker’s ability to tell a heartfelt story while creating such a visual spectacle is nothing short of brilliant. Thus, we strongly advise you to watch the video!
