BROOKLYN, NY | December 10, 2014 – Brooklyn-based artist, composer, producer, audio engineer, and musician extraordinaire, Erica Glyn, is currently preparing for the release of her highly anticipated EP, Dollars For Thieves. The new project further explores her gritty, yet emotive signature rock-electronica hybrid sound. Today Erica has announced fans will be able to pick up her 5-track EP Dollars for Thieves on January 27, 2015. The EP hosts four original tracks including debut single, “All Just For You,” which AllMusic.com called “a dark, hypnotic feel that is sometimes reminiscent of Tricky’s early solo albums before Glyn’s voice and a jagged guitar riff pick up the momentum.”Alongside the diverse, kaleidoscopic tunes, the EP also has Erica’s unique rendition of Echo & the Bunnymen’s “The Killing Moon.” Self-produced and engineered, the EP also boasts the talents of master music makers John Ginty (Citizen Cope, Jewel), Shazad Ismaily (Lou Reed, Tom Waits), Joe Tomino (Matisyahu, Dub Trio, Lady Gaga), and more, with mixes done by Erica and Charley Hustle (The Hustle Standard) and mastering by Mike Rogers (Sinead O’Connor, Mark Anthony). Erica spent months working on this EP and filmed her process to capture what truly went into creating Dollars for Thieves. Today she’s partnered with NYC-based music production blog, Sonic Scoop, for inside look at the making of Dollars for Thieves. Watch Erica’s mini-documentary here:http://bit.ly/1sgMWSG

About Erica Glyn

New York City based artist/producer, Erica Glyn, is an amplifying force in the music industry. From her self-made creations to her songwriting/production work, she’s becoming a well-known entity and making fans across the globe. She produces a unique and intriguing sound, mixing elements of trip-hop, rocktronica and a splash of psychedelic rock with her captivating vocals and commanding lyrics. Erica leans towards the unconventional, experimenting with instrumentation and tonal effects, garnering her comparisons to boundary-pushing powerhouses like Florence Welch and Fiona Apple.

Erica’s vampy, garage-pop lures listeners into “a world of the unusual and strange”, a landscape of pulsating beats, surging synthesizers, elegantly volcanic melodies, and dark, poetic lyrics. Her passion and drive for her own development exploded in her 2012 full-length release, STATIC, which was released to critical acclaim. Erica has been described as “a heck of a talent… among the few who could restore your faith in organized sound.” Thealbum was written, recorded and produced by Erica, with contributions from a collection of well-respected artists and special mixes by multiple Grammy award-winning master music-maker and friend, Chris Lord-Alge. Erica’s 2013 EP, “The Glyn That Stole Christmas,” was refreshing and interesting take on traditional Christmas songs including a rendition of “Winter Wonderland” with NYC Billboard-Charting artist/producer Charley Hustle (The Hustle Standard). To go along with the EP, Erica and Charley created an incredible DIY video that captured the essence of Christmas with purchases from the Goodwill and adorable handmade sets.  Erica’s undeniable songwriting ability, visually stunning music videos, and outside-the-box approach has garnered her industry praise and features in some of today’s best music publications, such as Artist Direct, The Deli, Substream Magazine, SonicScoop, and more.

Erica has opened for Jonathan Richman of the Modern Lovers in Istanbul and played alongside the likes of St. Vincent and Citizen Cope.  She has collaborated with some of the best musicians around, including Blair Wells (Q-tip, Parts and Labor), John Ginty (Citizen Cope, Jewel) and Jesse Krakow (Craig Wedron, Shudder To Think, Julee Cruise). She began her career working with Grammy nominated producer/engineer Bob Power, on albums by India.Arie, The Roots, Ozomatli, Citizen Cope and Meshell Ndegeocello among others. As an engineer, Erica has worked with a variety of notable personalities that include Hillary Clinton, Clive Davis, Hoda Kotb, Harvey Firestein, Ed Westwick, Richard Clarke (Audie Award), Stephen Colbert, Frank McCourt (Audie Award), Joan Rivers, Uma Thurman, Dr. Oz, Mariane Pearl (Audie Award), Michael J. Fox (Audie Award) and John Lithgow (Audie Award), the latter two projects both garnering Grammy nominations. As a producer, Erica works with artists based in Brooklyn including Nikolitsa, Maiden Voyage, and D&M and also composes for short films. She also spoke at the inaugural Gender Amplified fest in New York City where she and fellow female music producers shared their experiences in the music industry with high school youth to encourage them to pursue studies in music production and technology.

Erica is currently preparing for the release of her forthcoming EP, Dollars for Thieves, due out January 27, 2015, and will be releasing new singles and captivating music videos soon!
