T. HARDY MORRIS ANNOUNCES SUMMER TOUR DATES WITH DEER TICK

Athens, GA southern-grunge-punk pioneer T. Hardy Morris is hitting the road to close out the summer, playing dates surrounding the Newport Music Festival and throughout the west coast in August with Deer Tick. Since the release of Audition Tapes, lauded by Stereogum for its “calming beauty,” and praised by Paste for its “wildly passionate” songwriting, Morris has kept busy, touring alongside Jason Isbell, Drive By Truckers, Television, The Autumn Defence, Robert Ellis and more.

When not on the road the Dead Confederate frontman and member of Diamond Rugs has continued to work on his solo material, taking time this spring to record what will be his forthcoming sophomore album. The grungy-punk-meets-southern-rock-twang of the new material is a distinct departure from the laidback arrangements divinely dripping with summer humidity and heat found on Audition Tapes. Fans who have caught Morris on the road this year have been treated to these new songs and left amazed. Buzzbands LA reported on a recent show, writing that “the singer-guitarist delivered a blistering 35 minutes of punk-Americana that found me wondering if I’d ever seen anybody actually mosh to a band with lap steel. The songs were the sonic equivalent of draining your whiskey and then smashing your glass against the wall – raging and verging on unhinged.”
