THE BASTARD SONS Announce Debut Album ‘Smoke’ Released 7th August via Kaiju Records

“Classic rock? Punk? Stoner? We’re not quite sure, but we f*****g love it” – Metal Hammer
“Perfectly formed” – Terrorizer
“Rough and tumble party-metal anthems” – Rock Sound
“Menacing, heavy, punk-infused rock and roll – Big Cheese Magazine

Following a packed out performance at last weekend’s Camden Rocks Festival, York-based heavy rock’n’roll quintet The Bastard Sons are extremely proud to announce they will be releasing their debut album ‘Smoke’ on 7th August 2015 via Kaiju Records.

To celebrate, they’re sharing the lyric video for ‘A Lie Is A Lie’ – the first new track to be taken from the record – which you can watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjaX5ivYuwQ

“This song is about not accepting truths just because you heard them on the news or read them in a paper,” explains front man JJ Jackson “standing up for what you believe and, if needs be, kicking the man in the teeth and saying I won’t take your bullshit anymore.”

After a storming 18 months that saw them on a US tour with Throw The Goat, their first ever Hammerfest VI appearance, a main support slot to legendary Californian hardcore punks Snot, an appearance at Bloodstock Festival and shows alongside ’68 (the new project from The Chariot man Josh Scogin), Cavorts and a host of others, support for the band has been steadily building following the release of their first two records.

The ‘Bones’ and ‘Roads’ EPs attracted praise in the alternative press from Kerrang Magazine, Rock Sound, Big Cheese Magazine, Metal Hammer, Terrorizer, Skin Deep and more, with support at TV and radio also falling in line in the face of their southern-tinged guitar assault.

On forthcoming debut album ‘Smoke’ the band look set to re-focus themselves on the task at hand with a new-found fire in their bellies, leaving their party-anthems (for the most part) behind them as Jackson comments; “I always said with previous releases that I would never open up too much and write lyrics that meant too much to me personally, but with ‘Smoke’ things have changed. I just had to get out my inner frustrations with all the inaccurate crap we are fed through the media; it’s leading us towards negativity instead of pushing humanity forward to a more balanced, harmonious breed.”

The band will be revealing further details of ‘Smoke’ plus additional tour dates over the coming months.
