The Weeks Release ‘Buttons’ EP Today on Serpents and Snakes

Today, The Weeks release their 4-Song Buttons EP in time to celebrate the 7th anniversary of the band. The EP includes two revisited songs from their original release and two brand new compositions. The highlight of this EP is a re-recording of the first song they ever wrote (at 15 years of age), “Buttons.” It is a fan favorite and their most requested song, and was never properly captured on tape until now. The “Buttons” single is being serviced at radio and has already been added at stations in Nashville, St. Louis, Los Angeles, Peoria, Burlington, Auburn, Albany, and Ocean City.  Buttons EP is available digitally today, August 5, and on CD and White 10′ Vinyl on August 19.

The Weeks are winding down from a busy tour schedule in support of their 2013 LP release Dear Bo Jackson. The Band played over 175 shows in 6 different countries and wrapped up with 2014 Summer Festival dates that included Bonnaroo, Firefly, Forecastle, Wakurusa, Mountain Jam, Shaky Knees, and the Turf Festival in Toronto. The full-length follow up to Dear Bo Jackson will be recorded in August and September for a early Spring 2015 release.

The band will start out their EP promotional tour as support for Deer Tick and will continue with a string of headlining dates that will take them up the East Coast with a break in October to tour the UK and continuing with a run up the West Coast in November. See full list of tour dates below.

Born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi, The Weeks (Cyle Barnes – vocals; Sam Williams – guitar; Damien Bone – bass; Cain Barnes – drums; Alex Admiral Collier – keyboards) came together in 2006 and instantly came to define the sound of Southern Rock in the 21st Century – their grunge-powered, high-octane anthems rich with a bottomless Delta soul far deeper than the boys’ teenage years would suggest.
