Tiny Victories Unveil New Track “Systems”

The Sleepover Party is excited to share “Systems” from Tiny Victories‘ upcoming full-length Haunts, due June 10, 2014. The track premiered via Neon Gold, who said that it’s “bursting at the seams with anthemic urgency, buoyant synths and razor sharp hooks, but with an added weight-of-the-world intensity as frontman Greg Walters’ sings of love and lost on the open road.” The track was co-produced by Sam Vanderhoop Lee of Magic Man, alongside Haunts producer Alex Aldi.

“Full of smart, catchy electro-pop hooks with subversive production details to keep listeners guessing. There’s real depth to Greg Walters’ voice,as well as a natural, organic feel to the music.” – NPR

“Highly danceable, joyous electro-pop, at times veering toward the orchestral.” – New York Magazine

“Big things are in store for Tiny Victories.” – NYLON

Tiny Victories have also announced several summer tour dates, which will start in Baltimore at the Ottobar on May 29 and finish in Brooklyn at Baby’s All Right on June 21. The full list of tour dates can be found below. Haunts is now available for CD and 500 pressing limited-edition white vinyl pre-order HERE, and an iTunes pre-order is available for $7.99, which includes an instant download of “Drinking With Your Ghost.”
Tiny Victories’ new album, produced and mixed by industry veteran Alex Aldi (Passion PitHoly Ghost!) and mastered by Chris Gehringer (Yeasayer, ChairliftJay-Z), is a statement of purpose-and a point of arrival. The songwriting has evolved in a more focused direction, with a tighter structure, while Greg Walters and Cason Kelly continue to build on the experimental sonic architecture that fascinated them in their early days. Synth lines cut through through the dense underbrush of electronic soundscapes, propelled forward by Cason’s relentless drumming. Greg’s self-assured voice soars above the commotion.

Haunts comes on the heels of the band’s critically acclaimed 2012 EP, Those Of Us Still Alive. Following that brief 5-song debut, NPR picked Tiny Victories as a band likely to break big nationally, hand selected by WNYC’s own John Schaefer.  MTV Buzzworthy lauded the band’s “futuristic synths, squiggly samples and fist-pumping vocals” as sounding “like a big win to us,” while Time Out NY highlighted their “Bittersweet bangers…which should satisfy those craving a hit of lush, hooky MGMT-style dance-pop.” The band was invited to play Bonnaroo in 2013 and join the Bonnaroo 365 tour with White Denim and Maps & Atlases, as well as share bills with Ra Ra RiotBear Hands, Yellow Ostrich, Magic Man and more.
