New York, NY | February 17, 2015 – In honor of Black History Month DJ/producer, Zeke Thomas, has unveiled his own ode to Black culture, equality and civil rights with a new dance and hip-hop infused single entitled “Blackness.” The official NBA All Star DJ collaborated with Chuck D from the renowned hip-hop group Public Enemy and Pittsburgh lyricist Jasiri X for the inspirational track. The song is available for purchase today via legendary Hip Hop & Electronic label, Tommy Boy Entertainment (Ghostface Killah, Jamar Rogers) and can be found streaming exclusively on HipHopDX, here: http://bit.ly/BlacknessHipHopDX

When asked about the inspiration behind “Blackness” Zeke shared,
“Blackness is about our society’s misunderstanding of where the civil rights movement actually is from the point of view of a black man’s experience. As black men in today’s society, we still experience racism and oppression, and the only way to advance that understanding and make progress is to talk about it. Working with the legendary artist and visionary Chuck D and with Jasiri X was a dream come true for me. They are the perfect fit for this record and I can’t thank Mr. Harry Belafonte enough for introducing us.”
