Unbelievably, it’s been four years since the release of Blackpool pop punks Me Vs Hero’s runaway-underground-success debut album Days That Shape Our Lives and now the band are finally ready to reveal that their long awaited forthcoming second album I’m Completely Fine will be released on Monday 1st September – see below for tracklist.

Written and originally recorded in 2012, the recording process behind the new album was far from smooth as financial setbacks, homelessness, line-up changes and technical issues plagued a band who were hungry to push forward as quickly as possible with new music. During the first half of 2013, the band worked tirelessly at Steel City Studios to obtain the sound which they desired for the album, but by the time of their May Tour supporting Polar Bear Club, they conceded that they would have to try alternatives to get results. Unfortunately, even after months of re-recording, re-amping and re-mixing, they were frustrated by the elusive sound for the new record.

In September of 2013, Me Vs Hero returned to Japan to support The Wonder Years and, after much soul searching, concluded that taking the album tracks to the tried-and-tested Long Wave Studio was the only way to obtain the quality of sound which they needed. The band booked in immediately and began working with long-term friend Romesh Dodangoda on mixing duties, before bringing Chris Gehringer from legendary mastering house Sterling Sound on board for the final touches. By January 2014 they had finished producing the tracks just in time to embark on a headline tour of mainland Europe supported by Cheshire pop-punks Above the Underground, with MVH reinvigorated and hungry to get back to the grindstone.

With an already prestigious live schedule under their belts after touring alongside New Found Glory, Simple Plan, Deaf Havana, Four Year Strong and Set Your Goals to name just a few, not to mention shows with Mayday Parade and With The Punches across the whole of Japan, they can also count appearances at Slam Dunk, Sonisphere, Stage Dive (Stockholm), Relentless Boardmasters, PowerFest (Amsterdam)and Hevy Music Festival in their arsenal.

After enough lows for any band to contend with, Me Vs Hero are finally back where they belong and are most definitely riding high once more; chomping at the bit to release new material and get back on the road – there’s life in the old dog yet, and I’m Completely Fine sees the light of day just in time to bring some rays of pop punk sunshine to what can only be counted on as being a stereotypically British summer.
